Bethany StoddardLab Position: Lab Manager (2022-2023) Current Position: TBA Beth joined us in Summer 2022 and co-managed the lab with Nina until Summer 2023. Beth came to us with a MA in Linguistics from the Goethe University of Frankfurt, where she studied the acquisition of syntactic structures in German. As Lab Manager, she revived a cross-situational word learning study previously started by Miranda. Beth will soon be returning to Germany to pursue a PhD in English Linguistics at the University of Hamburg.

Nina SchoenerLab Position: Lab Manager (2021-2023) Current Position: Graduate Student at the University of California, Berkeley (PhD in Developmental Psychology) Nina managed the lab from the Summer of 2021 until the Summer of 2023. Nina earned her BS in Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience from UC San Diego before joining the ComDev team. During her time in the lab, Nina led two studies on the potential for partial learning of nouns and verbs from observational context. She gracefully managed the lab's research projects and mentored undergraduate students in 2021 as a solo Lab Manager. Nina is currently a graduate student at UC Berkeley studying early word learning in the LCD Lab with Dr. Mahesh Srinivasan.

Miranda LongLab Position: Lab Manager (2019-2021) Current Position: Graduate Student at the University of British Columbia (PhD in Developmental Psychology) Miranda co-managed the lab from the Summer of 2019 until the Summer of 2021. Miranda came to us having received her BA in Psychology from Western Washington University. Throughout her time as Lab Manager, she spearheaded the lab’s cross-situational word learning research and, along with co-lab manager Sara Johnson, helped the lab navigate through and stay productive during the COVID-19 pandemic. Miranda is currently a graduate student at the University of British Columbia studying early numerical cognition at the Centre for Cognitive Development with Dr. Darko Odic. |

Sara JohnsonLab Position: Lab Manager (2019-2021) Current Position: Postbac Trainee at the NIH Sara co-managed the lab from the Summer of 2019 until the Summer of 2021. Sara received her BA in Psychology from Seton Hall University prior to joining the ComDev Lab. As Lab Manager, she led the lab's line of naturalistic observation research and analyzed the input that children receive during word learning. She also trained and mentored undergraduate Research Assistants, along with co-lab manager Miranda Long. After her time in the lab, Sara was a Postbac Trainee at the NIH in the Postbaccalaureate Intramural Research Training Award (IRTA) Program. In 2023, Sara returned to UConn and the Department of Psychological Sciences as a Clinical Psychology graduate student where she works with Dr. Kim Treadwell.
